A WALL OF FAME: Meanwhile in his cozy basement Italian restaurant downtown, Giovanni Viezzi is honoring long time patrons and house favorites of Giovanni's Trattu (1823 Jefferson Place NW; 202-452-4960) with brass name plaques. Well over 100 shiny "thank yous" adorn the brick wall of the 60-seat dining room, where chef Santino Filippetto, briefly with Galileo, serves octopus carpaccio and homemade agnolotti. Plenty of bold-faced names pop out in the eclectic mix:
BETs Bob Johnson, Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, even three-time visitor Placido Domingo, whose title hangs near the opera star's favorite coiner table, No. 6. Viezza says he adds eight to 10 plaques a month, and "I hope to cover every brick on the wall!"
